Service Description

The Monthly Deep Relaxation Hour sessions (last Sunday of the month), are an opportunity to experience deep rest and rejuvenation in a calm and safe space where you are encouraged to get as comfy and cosy as possible. Using a popular, scientifically validated form of guided relaxation and meditation known as Yoga Nidra, we may begin with some calming breathing practices to calm and settle body, mind and nervous system. As the mind and body are led into a state of deepening rest, our brain waves and heart rate slow down, our blood pressure lowers and our central nervous systems shift from ‘fight or flight’ to parasympathetic. As such, it is difficult to describe the feeling of peace that can so often be experienced during Yoga Nidra - as the body begins to release, the mind drifts in and out of consciousness, everyday worries are forgotten and we feel renewed and energised. Whilst you may fall asleep during a Yoga Nidra session, and some practices are specifically designed to induce sleep, it is common to feel as though you are somewhere between being awake and falling asleep. Whatever happens is perfect. Like mindfulness, there is no right or wrong way to experience the practice. You are welcome to stay for some complimentary herbal tea & sweet treats afterwards, to help you ground and 'come back'. You might want to sit quietly by yourself or chat with the other participants about your experience in the session - there is no right or wrong. There are currently only 18 spaces available a week. So please book your space early to avoid disappointment. Booking essential. What to bring: - Yoga mat - Bottle of water - Wear comfortable loose clothing (yes, even pj's are ok!) - Please bring enough equipment with you so that you can create a cosy and comfortable nest, support your knees, head etc with pillows & cushions. - Bring blankets, cushions and an eye pillow if you have one - Make yourself comfortable, close your eyes and rest

CLASSES: If you are no longer able to attend your class, you can reschedule or cancel, as long as there is at least 24 HOURS notice before the start of your class.
